The Blast Radius

Cyber • Tech • What’s Next

One story, one shift, and two or three things you can actually do about it. For the people who have to run the network on Monday — not the ones writing the press release.

Hosted by Quinn “Q” Vidal • From AIQSO

The Blast Radius podcast cover: the show title over a dark starfield with orange radar rings and circuit traces, host Quinn Vidal at right, tagline Cyber, Tech, What's Next.

The Show

Timely, editorial, and short on hype

Cybersecurity, changing tech, and industry recommendations — explicitly not just another AI show. Every episode takes something that actually happened, works out who it really hits, and gets to the part most coverage skips: what a small or mid-sized business is supposed to do on Monday morning.

Roughly 25 minutes. Four segments.

The Blast

~10 min

One news story: what happened, who it hits, and what the headlines got wrong.

Radius Check

~10 min

A tech or regulatory shift, and what it actually means for SMBs and the security teams behind them.

The Fix

~5 min

Two or three concrete actions you can take this week. No homework you’ll never do.

Field Notes

Occasional

Anonymized lessons from real engagements — the things that only show up once you’re on site.

First one’s in the chamber

The show is in production. Episode one is written; the rest is rig, record, and ship.

Episode 001

AI Ain’t New, Y’all Just Late

The technology everyone discovered last year has been running your spam filter, your fraud alerts, and your autocomplete for decades. A short history of how we got here — and why “new” is the most expensive word in tech.

In production

New episodes land on YouTube first. Apple Podcasts and Spotify follow once the feed is live.

Quinn "Q" Vidal, host of The Blast Radius.

The Host

Quinn “Q” Vidal

Two decades in enterprise security, and a stubborn interest in the gap between what gets announced and what actually lands on somebody’s desk. Q runs AIQSO, where the day job is building and securing systems for small and mid-sized businesses — which is also where most of this show’s material comes from.

The Blast Radius is the editorial half of that work. The instructional half lives in The Cyber Signal, where “The Fix” hands you off when a topic deserves a real lesson.
